Portrush is a popular tourist destination on Northern Ireland's famous Causeway Coast. The town sits on a peninsula jutting into the Atlantic between two sandy beaches. The station is home to two lifeboats: a 17m Severn class all-weather lifeboat with a crew of 6, and a 5m D class inflatable inshore lifeboat with a crew of 3.
